Photography is my passion. I do not only take wedding photos but also do portraits, landscapes, and street photography. This section represents my perspective on how I see the world through the lenses.

Start Photography with Budget Under $1,500!!

"Hey Nat, I want to get into photography. What can I get with $1,500 budget?"

I have this kind of question all the time and I do not mind to answer anyone about photography equipment. I have three friends told me that they will get into photography just for yesterday. Therefore, I think it's a good time to write a blog about how to start your photography within $1,500.

Since, I have been a Canon shooter for 8 years. I know better about Canon gear than other brands. In this blog, I'll explain the reasons why I pick these gears. Also, I'll give you recommendations if you have a higher budget. Lastly, I'll show y'all what I've been using for my photography.

Total is $1,357.38

Canon 6D is the least expensive Full Frame (FF) camera. There are many benefits from a FF camera such as ISO performance, Depth of Field (DOF), and dynamic range.

"Nifty Fifty" is one of the most popular lens in photography, especially for beginners. The lens is cheap. 50mm is a standard lens. It's give you wide enough angle to take group pictures. You can also get DOF from f/1.8

Adobe LR and PS is like a kitchen. You import all your RAW files and cook with these softwares. These are softwares that photographer must have.

However, you have to remember that gear won't make you become a good photographer. Go out and take pictures. Taking more pictures is one of the best ay to learn photography. Hope y'all have fun shooting!

There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.

This set is a good start for portrait photography. I really do recommend to get a full frame camera since the price of 6D is getting cheaper. 6D is definitely worth the money. Why do I recommend to get a full frame camera? Digital Photography School can give you the answer in this article.

There are options if you have a higher budget. These are lenses that you might want to get later.

Camera Bag

These are my favorite camera bags. I have a back Domke camera bag for 4 years. The bag can fit a camera with a lens. Ona camera bag is also beautiful. I use Ona depending on my outfit and what kind of event I go.

Camera Strap

OP/TECH is awesome! The strap is durable and affordable. I also use Holdfast strap when I shoot a wedding for two cameras.

Please leave the comment below what do you think about this gear set.

Do you agree or not agree with me, or should I add something more.
